Ben Alston
Jim Hackett signed Ben Alston in the 2007/08 pre-season from Congleton Town. Hackett's new assistant Andy Lee was with Alston at Congleton, and he believes that he will be a success in the Welsh Premier. Ben made his Nomads' debut as a second-half sub in the 6-2 away defeat to Haverfordwest County in September 2007.
Ben also played for St Helens Town and Pilkingtons before switching to the Nomads but unfortunately his debut for the club was delayed by injury. He is a strong tackling full back who can also provide cover in central defence and midfield. He has put in some good performances at the centre of defence to cover for injuries. Ben turned to football when injury prevented him from following his first love, rugby league.
