Mark Whitby

Mark is 32 years old and from Swansea. He is single with a daughter called Madison who is one years old.

Mark began refereeing in 1987 in the Swansea Junior League, where he stayed for four years. He then progressed to the Swansea Senior League between 1991 and 1993, before he was promoted to the Welsh League Assistants list in 1993. In 1995, he became a Welsh Premier Assistant and a Welsh League Referee and in 1997, he was accepted on to the Welsh Premier's Referee's League where he has been ever since. He was promoted on to the FIFA Referee List in 2003 and Mark's talent was immediately spotted at the highest level as he was selected for the UEFA Talent Programme for 'up and coming' referees.

Mark's highlights include the Bangor v Rhyl, Welsh Cup Final in 2006 and the World Cup Qualifier between Estonia and Liechtenstein. Refereeing the International Friendly match between the Republic of Ireland and Canada at Lansdowne Road was also a personal highlight. Mark's hobbies include keeping fit and swimming.
