Neil Morgan

Neil is 40 years old from Gorseinon, Swansea. He started his refereeing career in January 1981 in the Swansea Senior League. He then progressed through to the Welsh League in 1984. At the start of the League of Wales in 1992, Neil was a Linesman and was then promoted to the Referees List in 1993/94.

Neil joined the FIFA Linesman's list in 1993 and his most important matches to date as a Linesman include FC Deportivo v Allborg in the UEFA Cup in 1993, Ajax v Besiktas in the Cup Winners Cup in 1993, Cardiff v Wrexham in the Welsh Cup Semi Final in 1993, France v Italy in the Women's European Championship in 1994. He was also a reserve Referee in 1995 for the FAW Trophy Final.

Neil has refereed in 14 International Tournaments (1 in Norway and 9 in the USA). In 2000, Neil officiated in the Millennium USA Cup, which featured 694 teams, from 25 different countries, playing 3,000 games in a week with 452 referees from all over the World. Neil refereed 23 games in the week, where he picked up two awards for Best Overseas Ref and best Tournament Referee. He was rewarded for achievements by refereeing the top two finals in the Tournament, which were televised live on American TV.

Neil's other Refereeing highlights include being the first Welshman to referee in the Irish League when he took charge of Loughall v Newry City in 2005, refereeing England v Ireland in the 4 Nations Tournament in Cork in 2005, refereeing the Loosemores Cup Final between Carmarthen and Rhyl in 2005 and the Live televised Welsh Cup Semi Final between Rhyl and TNS in 2005.

Neil's hobbies include Golf, Skiing, travelling and Neil has recently completed building his dream home.
